why does the fireman stay in my house on sims 3?

after a fire breaks out in the house the fireman never leaves. its happened twice in 2 other households. why or how can i get the fireman to leave? he stands in my house doesnt eat cant speak or inte...

    Reset him

    • Open the cheat console with ctl-shift-c
    • type resetsim firstname lastname (name of the fireman, hoover over the fireman to find out the name)
