Why is my Sims 3 for PC missing text?

I have the following gamesfor my PC. The Sims 3, Sims 3 Show time, Pets, Generations, World Adventures, Supernatural, and Into the future. All games are up to date with the patches and I have no mods in stalled. I have content from the Sims 3 Store but most of it is just the redeemable items that come with the games.

Up until I installed Into the future my games worked fine and I had no trouble with them what so ever. However after installing Into the future I noticed that text was missing from my game. Options for when I would click on items would show up blank, characters related to Into the future would have no names appear either while my sim was talking to them or when I would hover my mouse over them. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times now and gotten the same problem over and over again. It is very annoying as I had been looking forward to playing Sims 3 with this expansion pack since I got it at Christmas last year. I held off reporting this problem as I have been unable to update my game due to a lack of internet connection.

If someone could kindly explain why I am having this problem and how I can go about fixing it I would be very grateful.

    What language is your game installed in and did you buy ITF from the same source as the others ?

    I buy all my sims games from the same place and the language is always set for English.

    Uh, I think you're the first person with english settings with this issue. Usually it's non-english games that have this issue.

    That said, I don't have a solution for it. No clue why it happens to certain games.

    • Are you on a PC or on a mac ?
    • When you reinstalled, did you do a clean reinstall and clean out the registery (if you're on Windows that is)
    • DId you just reinstall ITF or the whole game ?
    • What is your base game version right now ?

      Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner.

      If you're not at 1.67, please update your game.

    Is ITF patched? If you don't have internet connection how do you patch the game?

    In answer to the first post I am on PC, windows to be exact. I've no idea what you mean by clean out the registery, but I have uninstalled all of my sims 3 games before reinstalling all of them. And thte base game version is 1.67.

     

    Now as for the last post I didn't have the internet before but I have it now. All my games are patched to date, so yes  ITF is patched.

    Try a clean reinstall following the instructions here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall and here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Help-Guide-All-in-one-fix-except-hardware-issues-PC-only/m-p/734448#M36281 where it says Delete game installers

    Manually delete everything if above method does not work: https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3

    Make sure everything Sims is gone from your computer before reinstalling

    If the game still shows in your Uninstaller Menu afterwards, you can use CCleaner to get rid of those.

    Sometimes when you uninstall, Windows leaves left over entries in your Windows Registery and then on reinstalling you have errors.


    It's my best suggestion with this error.
