If the code doesn't work, it might already be redeemed so check the history to download it from there.

I redeemed my code on the website because when I tried to install it it would skip the step to enter the code. Anyways, it worked online and it did appear in my purchase history but it will not download. It says an unknown error occured and it refuses to download anything.
What is your base game version right now ?
Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner.
