World Adventures bug spawners aren't spawning WA bugs

I've been trying to get my witch's hands on a crypt moth and a scarab beetle to make Bottled Mummy's curse, but I started to get suspicious when none of the spawners I tried produced anything but regular moths and roaches. So far, I haven't been able to find anyone with the same problem.

Eventually, I went into test mode. I took out all of my mods and ran the game with only the base game and World Adventures. I put 50 Crypt Moth Spanwers in a room and caught 100 regular moths. I tried this again with a tomb marker in the room and still no luck. I also tried 50 assassin beetle spawners and caught 100 water beetles. After that . I tried a mixes bug spawner from the base game and got a variety of bugs.

After this, I tried uninstalling all my games and reinstalling just TS3 and World Adventures, but the problem persists. Idk if it's relevant, but I have TS3 on disc, but I bought WA off of Origin.

    @katthekonqueror  It doesn't matter where you bought the base game and WA; an Origin-controlled install will be fully patched and shouldn't have any issues with missing content.

    When you're trying to catch these bugs, what world is your sim in?  The WA bugs only appear in their respective vacation worlds; you can't find them in your sims' homeworlds.  If you've been looking in vacation worlds, please test again, this time in a clean user data folder: move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, launch the game to start a clean folder, pick a random sim, send them to China, place an assassin beetle spawner, and see what happens.

    There may be a mod that unlocks the WA bugs in homeworlds, although I'm not sure.  (I have heard that Shimrod made a few epic spawners that might work.)  If there is a mod that would help, the people at NRaas would know; you could always ask there.
