if they have proof of purchase the reps can sometimes assit with it , photocopy or picture of the game disk to verify ownership which can be attached to the chat via directions from the CS rep

They said they bought it a while ago in a store and who keeps their receipts. I dont have mine. I bought my game back in 2009-2010. And if they bought the game used can't reregister it. I just posted the link of it on sale as a last resort if they can't get the code. $6 is a bargin if you have to replace it! Doesn't EA charge $10 to get a new code??

As far as I am aware, our CS charges for replacement disks under the warranty. Here's more information as to the specifics.
