I’m having the same issue. I had to delete the basket for cross-stitching because my Sims wouldn’t stop doing that.

I've had this happen in my saves as well. I wonder if anyone's taken a look at the item tuning? It almost sounds like it's set to broadcast for autonomy at super-high priority, like infants.

    I have this happen in one of my rotational families. There is just one cross stitch basket in the living room, but all family members including children will start cross stitching every free minute.
