[ARCHIVED] [DO] Dishes not being cleaned/disposed of

Removing Half Walls on the lot solves the problem. For some reason it occurs on lots with half walls.

My sim will pick up dish as to clean them, then set it right back down. I have to tell again to clean up before they will follow through. This happens if I tell them to clean or if they do so auto. Pick up plate, then set right back down. Although this isnt everytime, about 80% - 90% of time.

I was having this issue. I was playing around and discovered that if you go into build, click the stack of dishes, and sell them (sell all of the stacks of dishes that way) then clean up the single dishes and it should work. I’m not sure why selling them triggered the action to work, but it did for me. I had trash cans, waiter stations, dish washers, sinks and my sims wouldn’t go to them until I sold the stacks. Sometimes they lay the dishes back down, but I just sell the stacks of dishes again and they go back to working normally. Idk why but it worked 

I, too, have this issue. And like others have said, the glitch is caused when a dish is placed out of reach. Most of the time it's the result of a sim placing an empty dish on a half-wall, from which they have trouble retrieving dishes from. However, I've also found dishes in ceilings, under other objects, and floating in the air (which is caused by toddlers glitching).

Once you delete or move the offending dish, sims resume doing the dishes normally. At least until it happens again ... Cuz it's pretty frequent.

Having the same issue but at the Diving Pelican, there are a lot of half walls where the Sims will put things down on, then can't get to so they can clear the dishes. This leads me to wonder and ask why they're even surfaces to place items on in the first place, especially since sim pathfinding can't figure out how to get there to pick up said objects (Same with high out-of-reach shelves). I can't even click and drag the objects because I don't own the restaurant, I've also turned the Diving Pelican upside down trying to find the stuck dishes (which is what causes the plates to "pile up") and can't find anything, there are several washer stations and dishwashers on the premises. It's beyond a joke at this point.

I’m a Ps4 player and I am still having this problem after the update, my waiters don’t take the dishes.

Unfortunately I can’t send my saves because it’s on platform.

I used your method (sell all of the stacks of dishes that way)

and also placed the waiter's stand away from the wall, even though the game accepts the position adjacent to the wall, and so I solved it.
