[ARCHIVED] Fire alarm but no fire (invisible fire/Fire inaccessible)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Svenska
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? Sp04
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get famous, Seasons, Cats and dogs, Laundry stuff, City living, Get together, fitness stuff, Get to work, vampires, dine out, spa day, backyard stuff, movie hangout stuff, spooky stuff, Spa day, perfect patio, the free Christmas pack.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? If it starts burn but you can't see any flames to extinguish and the fire alarm rings while your Sims panicks.
What happens when the bug occurs? I came back to my game after I had been in CAS, and it said there was fire. I had a fireplace, so I went and took out the fire in the fireplace. But it still said there was fire in the house, and my Sims panicked and ran out, but I still couldn't see any flames, only that it was black on the floor. So I'm stuck because I can't do anything because it says there is fire in the house but I can't extinguish it because there are no flames. I've tried with the cheat that puts out fire, but the alarm keeps ringing.
What do you expect to see? So it should start a fire with flames, because the fire alarm rings. But my Sims Sims panicked even if there is no flames there. It should start a fire and it should keep spreading.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've tried with the cheat that extinguishs the flames but the only sign of a fire I can see is black on the floor. There should probably be a fire in the fireplace that started to spread out of control but there is no flames to extinguish but everything in the game acts like there is fire on the lot.

EA should just be ashamed of the way Sims 4 blocks all player interactions while a fire is even remotely on the lot in the first place and makes all the sims first crowd the fire, then flee the area.  Fires should be traumatizing for the amount of damage they do and the injury or loss of life, not because there's a fear of spending at least two in-game hours and at least 20 real-world minutes ABSOLUTELY HELPLESS and unable to save-and-exit because apparently, EA thinks we can't have a life outside of the game and we need to be locked down and punished by having to watch as they take control and do the most irritating and least entertaining things with your sims.

If it weren't for this player-punishment blocking, fires that happen under cabinets, inside foundations and in other stupid places that don't render and sims can't reach could be resolved by the player, but EA doesn't want that.  There will never be a fix to this bug, they WANT us to remain crippled for the duration of a fire, and they don't care how much anxiety that causes, or how much it breaks the game.  They want fire to have maximum trauma to the player, and this is the only way they know how to do it.

  • I also just had this happen today. Not sure how long in-game hours I waited before I gave up and exited without saving - but it was at least a full red to green sleep, made and ate breakfast, and got the newly aged toddler enough potty training skill to go on their own. I definitely waited longer than 20 minutes. So, there are a good number of playing hours absolutely wasted.

Called the firefighters, and they just stood chatting next to the house, no fire.

A random sim lady came into my house and starting talking to the toddler in their third floor bedroom - didn't have any option to make her leave even after introducing myself.

    No items were disintegrating.

This is literally the first time I have played the game in months - just bought the new expansion pack - and this if the fourth huge and very old bug I have run into TODAY. This is ridiculous. Seriously this is five years old at this point.

And before anyone asks again, no, since you can't save anything during a fire I do not have a save file for you to look at.

    Hey all,

Just checking in to see if anyone is still seeing this on a modless game as we've been unable to reproduce it on our end.

If so please share your save file with us (instructions: http://x.ea.com/74420) so we can take a look.

    Thanks!

  • Hey, also had this bug before, so it probably doesn't come from one of the last update, I already had this bug last year and in 2023.

I just ended up deactivate fires with MCCC cuz it was too often at a moment

I didn't report it cuz I didn't know the existence of AHQ for a while,I'm happy someone report it now.
