I don't have to rehire the ranch hand, but like every other employee that's every existed in the Sims franchise at large, they spend more time socializing and denuding me of counter space with their endless food prep than doing the job for which they were hired.
They stay past seven. They wander around. They sit in the rocking chair. They talk to whomever they can stop, lot dweller or not. And they cook. BOY DO THEY COOK.
Do they clean the stalls? Nope. Do they feed the livestock? Nope. Do they pick up the manure? Nope. And if you lock them out of the house, they loiter sullenly on the edge of the lot and don't do jack squat.
Yes, they have a sink, a trash can and all necessary paths and materials. Yes, this happens EVERY time. And yes, this happens on all lots.
Another broken base game behavior ported over to the next patch, next expansion, etc. to bedevil all of us optimistic, stubborn or dim souls who keep acquiring these add -ons.
