I honestly thought it was my mods, upsetting to find out that it's been broken like this for this long and there's been no word...
The same happened with me. Three teens and the game does not recognize the other two as students.. It's even worse when "non-student" sims have afterschool activities, they can't go there from the school. I mean the sims leave, but the game detects that they aren't at their afterschool program. Sometimes they can't even go home, in such case I can only get them home by cheating. It's a HUGE BUG, I hope they will finally solve this!
New update dropped today ahead of Life and Death, and as far as I can tell from the patch notes it wasn't addressed still. I updated without checking, so my mods are definitely broken so I can't check right now to see if it was just shadow fixed.
Just made a new save with two teens and sent them to school, still running into the same issue as before: only one of them got the goals and the other didn't get an end of day report and is trapped leaving without using the travel function. So needless to say, new update didn't fix it!
I also checked this and nothing changed after the patch... so annoying.
