Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Aging sim wont let me choose traits, etc when using birthday cake
What happens when the bug occurs? Pop up screen wont show up where i can choose traits and stuff. Game continues as normal but the sim has aged (teen to young adult with only 2 traits)
What do you expect to see? Pop up where i can choose traits
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
Cant use cheats since this is a save where i gather trophies. Havent tried on other sims so i wont mess up this save file.

I have to ask, because I provided EA with a detailed report on what's happening and they ignored it, but are you aging your sims up on SUNDAY? I have found that through my testing on this bug that any teen that ages up on Sunday will have this issue. I experience this issue with no mods installed, but with MCCC installed it solves the problem of the missing trait. However, you may notice that you are not gaining character values. There is a an issue with the coding dealing with the high school pack which is causing this issue. It's due to hastily putting out scripts before they are tested. I have determined that EA has no test environment, We are their testers. We are the team that finds and reports bugs. We should be getting PAID to do this for them. I've already offered my services as a retired DBA. I would bet my life that I could do a much, much better job at finding issues than what EA has been doing.
Again, confirm the day of the week, as most likely it is Sunday that's causing this issue.

Just wanted to place this here for folks in case it helps: this bug seems to happen in my save when I age a teen sim up before their "actual" birthday. When I've tried to use a birthday cake to age a teen up and they still have, for example, 10 days left on their age counter, the no age up traits bug seems to occur. When I wait for the same teen Sim to get to "0 days left" on their age counter, then use a birthday cake to age them up, it works and I'm able to select/generate a trait as usual! I know it's not a full fix, but it might work for you if you're desperate like I was. Not sure what the correlation/causation situation is there but its been working for me....

Playing the Sims 4 on my PlayStation and the 3rd traits do not always appear. Got the trait on my first teen when aged up but none since. Second tried a cake but nothing and 3rd forgot their birthday since was busy doing an event and they also did not get a third trait when they aged up. First teen who got a trait is what I am playing now, and family is non played now so will check to see if the fourth when becomes a young adult will get a 3rd trait.
I’ve had this problem now with 2 teens, in addition to a ton of other bugs, since the update. I also own the new Lovestruck pack so not sure if it’s the pack or update.

For sending a save, does it count as unmodded when it was modded before but I deleted the mods?
Also having this issue, already me too'd a while ago, this bug not only doesn't give teens growing up a third trait, but also doesn't give any earned character values trait, so with rotational play and aging on you have to keep track of every teen aging up or be okay with not getting any of those.
Used a bugfix with the previous game version, but on curseforge the current game version isn't listed with it, and I can't find any other information about it, but it worked well with the previous game version.
i just had this happen with a sim i really needed to age up non-glitched since i wanna try out reincarnation with when pack drops tomorrow; i think i properly attached save link? i followed the instructions but the final step was confusing so plz do tell me if that isnt correct

@loudmichaun707 Not that I know of. I worked around it in several ways, and the way that worked for my second teen did not work for the last two, so I had to do a different workaround for them. Add your 'Me Too' to the first post. There is at least one mod that helps with this, from what I was told, so there are likely people in the thread who added the mod they used to help. My workarounds did not use mods.

my teenage Sims in this save cannot age properly. If you want to age them into a young adult, you won't get a pop up to select a third trait. There are only two traits in the CAS (without fulleditmode), even though they are young adults. You don't get a high school diploma or an invitation to the ceremony. The reward from teenage aspiration also disappears.
I tried different interactions with the cake, different lifespans, Death Flower arrangement. Nothing helped.

Are saves still needed for this issue? I just had this bug come up in my unmodded game and had just saved before having the teen blow out candles.

I'm also having this issue. I had it in a save I just made this week and I made a new save with the same family and tested aging up the teen sim a few times without saving the first sim week of playing and she aged up fine with no issues but then once I got to her actual birthday she didn't get a third trait again and her teen friends outside of the household that aged up also didn't. I'm sending my save which is saved right before she aged up to SimsDirect, but I also have a save file right before I tried aging her up when it was working, should I send that too? Also sorry if I'm replying to the wrong message!
