How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? SP38.1.assets.beta-sp38.35
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except for Journey to Batuu.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enter main menu, select new game, and enter CAS.
What happens when the bug occurs? Spot where traits would be is blank, no way to click them.
What do you expect to see? Trait slots I can click on to browse traits.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Downloaded Lovestruck EP.
I had not opened my game since the first patch update on July 23rd. I downloaded Lovestruck and the update on the 25th. I entered CAS and realized I could not save a new sim to the gallery because the traits area was blank. I went back in and it appeared, but the preferences were messed up and unable to click on. Today, the 26th, I updated my game again for the emergency fixes and now the traits are gone again. I have repaired my game, taken out all mods and cc, deleted the localthumbcache, restarted my computer, took my entire The Sims 4 file out and launched with a fresh game and the traits are still gone.
@apeighty I'm honestly hoping that it's something going on with ea or that kind of a deal because I have been so excited to come home and play and this started happening for no reason. I kinda wish I didn't update it hahaha 🥲 removed all of the mods and cc
same deal here! for me, it works as intended when all mods are removed, but when i try to add any back in (not any particular or specific one) the traits panel disappears again.
if i try to create a new user folder without mods, it works — but when i add any of my saves, tray, or mods back in, the game just won’t load.
never had this issue before until the lovestruck update. i don’t have the pack. i play on mac. i’ve tried repairing, i always remove localthumbcache when i make any change to my mods, i’ve made the game generate a handful of new resource.cfg files but nothing helps.
please please pleaaaseee fix this, i’m going crazy 😭
@lona_kim Me too I’m so frustrated there’s been no news about how broken CAS is in general! Spent all that money for nothing as of right now
This has only happened once for me. My game is vanilla and after quitting and relaunching the traits appeared again in CAS. I loaded, started a new save, and quit several times today and it was fine each time. Seems to be one of those annoying bugs which is intermittent ☹️
that was ur fault. u should have put them in a temporary folder before switching over to the new app
@lilisimscape ok calm down buddy, evryone here is having the same problem and just trying to get help, and being a foul mouth doesnt help.
Whenever I'm in CAS, both with and without mods, the traits menu straight up doesn't show up and the only valid way for me to save a sim is by randomizing the traits as that's the only button that shows up. My game is updated and I deleted local thumb cache (which fixed the issue at first but once I started making a sim it disappeared again) At first I thought it was one of my UI mods but it still persists if I turn off mods in settings. The attached picture is with mods, but like I said, this persisted in vanilla as well. If someone could help that'd be great!!
