[BY DESIGN] Change speed-time breaks the TV's image

Noticed that bug yesterday, kinda freaked me out and i hope they will fix it

Oh thank god I'm not the only one. I noticed this and took all my mods out and tested everything. Now that I know it is a universal glitch with the actual game I feel a hint better.

I wouldn't say this is a bug, as it was purposedly added to the game. I guess the idea is similar to what happens with the music.

I don't know how to prove this, but here an extract from the tuning descriptions Maxis makes available after each patch:

"distortion_speed - Game speed at or above the distortion speed will have a distortion effect applied to the video when that speed is selected."

TVs have set that their distortion_speed is speed2. This means that for the video on TVs, speed 2, speed 3 and ultra speed will be distorted.

This was there on 1.14, but not on 1.13.

Additionally, now TVs also mute when on speed 2 or above.

Maybe it would be good to start a thread in the feedback forum at the officials for this.

I'm hoping they change this back to be honest.  I very nearly never play in normal speed.  Usually I play on speed 2 and its really irritating to not be able to see anything but a broken tv signal. :/

This is by design.

After an update the TV of sims are in static when accelerates the speed of time in the game and boring is a buzz that is when the TV is so. It hurts my eardrums. If it were possible to remove this buzz I would be very grateful.

It's not liked by many. There's no info if anything will be done about it but I do think they are aware on how disliked it is.

It's all right. The biggest problem for me is just the buzz. Withdrawing he'll be grateful.
