[FIXED] Bird of Paradise Plants Won't Produce Flowers

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? n/a
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Dine Out, Jungle Adventure, Vampires
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Plant a bird of paradise and let it grow
What happens when the bug occurs? The plant will fully mature but never produces any flowers.
What do you expect to see? I expect the plant to flower each morning
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The patch that changed the entire gardening system.

I had tried splicing a tulip and chrysanthemum in order to get a bird of paradise. The spliced plants have not produced bird of paradise flowers; however, when I went into my household inventory, I found two bird of paradise plants and planted those. The plants appearing has occurred twice, and both times the plants did not produce flowers.

    • Birds of Paradise plants that are acquired from rare seed packets will now successfully blossom.

    Fixed in Patch 1.47.49

  • I'm still getting this bug in my game as well. My spliced Tulip and Chrysanthemum bush flowered, but no Bird of Paradise appeared among the flowers and when I tried to harvest it, the flowers vanished off the bush but didn't appear in my inventory. I hope there's progress towards patching this.

  • I'm so glad this has been reproduced and is being worked on! I'd just like to add that the seeds gained from Patchy and from the seed packets will provide all seeds except Bird of Paradise - a plant will appear in the household inventory instead of a flower. Also, no matter how long my sims stay at a festival, none of the plants are harvestable, even when in season, which means no Bird of Paradise flowers available at the Romance festival either - which basically means that I cannot complete the gardening collection

I haven't been able to notice if the BOP flowers or not, but I just wanted to touch on what SHAEDANNA said about the festivals. The plants don't provide any sort of ability to harvest from them for me either.

It's July 2019 and I also still cannot produce Bird of Paradise flowers from a spliced plant. I've waited many many days and it never flowers. How do you not maintain this at all but charge people money for xpacs of your broken game?

Hi, I don't know if there's any more recent threads on this matter.

My BOP-plants actually didn't grow at all (I had them sheltered, so I was very confused, and the little plant pile wanted to get evolved), so I cheated them into their blooming state and evolved them. Still no flowers though. Very annoying...

I do not remember how I got them, but it could have been from a rare seed pack... (?)

One helper in this thread said that the bug with BOP has been fixed. Apparently there's still issues. :/
