Now that Sims have PTO (paid time off) I tried to take all my Sims on a fishing expedition. However, they cannot travel during their "working hours" while on vacation. If I have two Sims using PTO and two just normally off on that day, selecting all four SIms in the household (with one of the Sims normally off as the active Sim) it will report the two using PTO as "busy". If one of the Sims that is using PTO is the active SIm *that* Sim is able to travel, but the other Sim using PTO cannot. I have gotten around this limitation by travelling in pairs - One Sim with PTO is active and takes one of the other Sims to the location, then switch to the other Sim waiting on the home lot who is using PTO and bring the other pair to the park or wherever. Although this works, it is cumbersome. Clearly this is a bug. Vanilla digital deluxe game - no mods or CC. i7 Windows 7 8MB RAM, NVidia 550ti 8MB Graphic RAM.

Just checked this out and it seems to be fixed! Took a vacation day and took my Sims bowling. There was no issue getting to the venue.

If a Sim took a day off (or is in Granite Falls) they are no longer permitted to Travel With. They will not show up as a choice when using the Travel With, and Away Actions will not allow you to Bring the said sim to the neighborhood

This only occurs if the Sim in question is attempted to be brought during their work/school hours.

The missing travel with option makes it different but could you read that thread to see if there might be a connection ?

They are differnt, I know of the bug the thread refers to but this one it's actually me being able to play the sim but the game prevents me from allowing them to travel to other destination unless I manually select them and do it (say I can't bring 2 children between 9-3 PM because the game, despite them being on a day off/paid vacation, somehow believes they are at school)
The other bug refers to an issue with the UI where the game seemingly is unable to add the "away actions" UI on sims who returned to work and came back home whilst you are away on another lot.

@crinrict Yes. My Sims have been vacationing in Granite Falls and I have to be very careful about when they travel to the National Park or to the Deep Woods. All four Sims have the same job/working hours, so I have to watch and make sure they only travel during times or on days they would not normally be working.
This actually happened to me two Fridays ago:
Sims got up late, I forgot it was during their working time. Needed to get to the Deep Woods in order to collect a rare insect. Had to take the Sims *one at a time* to the National park and then again *one at a time* to the Deep Woods, then change all their clothing to their hiking outfits. With all the travel/loading screens It took just under 30 minutes *real time* to do this. Very annoying.

I double-checked and the problem is still there. Sims are still on vacation. During normal working hours I could only travel with the active Sim and the other three don't even show up on the list of available Sims to travel with. Once in the National Park the "bring Sim here" interaction was not available for the Sims left behind.
So, definitely still a problem!

Last time I played, I had my sims go to Granite Falls. I have two adult sims and three children. For some reason, the children won't tavel with me! A pop-up screen appears that says they were busy even though they were right by me. Also, they aren't able to be "brought to current location" or they're not a choice when I click on certain games to play with... PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP! Stuff like this makes me super mad.
