[FIXED] [FR] Residential Rentals - Unable to Build/Edit lot

You can’t edit the rental units unless you are the landlord AND the unit is unoccupied. If you’ve already moved Sims in you have to wait until their lease is up to be able to remodel.

@ttuthill To be sure, this is only for occupied lots ? Or are you also unable to edit unoccupied ones ?

This thread is currently a bit of a collection. There are either several issues going on or still misunderstandings how building works. It's difficult for me to distinguish as I personally don't build.

As people just keep adding different stuff to this thread, it's currently kept as collection until things get figured out.

I’m also having the same issue, I am unable to edit empty households 

@sharnieh123 Are these lots that a Sim owns? And do they live on that lot?

I own a property rental, there are no tenants and I have accessed the property from manage worlds and I am unable to edit the contents of the house, if I click to select and place they just disappear without an error

You can edit it if you switch to their household

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Become landlord of a property, single property rental (whole house is for rent). Have a tenant move in. Evict tenant. Return to property to edit.
What happens when the bug occurs? Cannot edit an established rental house. When editing the property, you can only edit one item. If you then return to Live Mode and go back to Build Mode, you can edit one item again. EG. Purchase and place item. Once item is placed, attempting to change the colour of it or move it or move another item will have no effect. Item will reset to previous colour/position with no error notification. Return to Live Mode, then Build Mode and a different item or the same item can now be moved. In addition, the undo button does not work.

Edit: Even after selling the property, I cannot edit or even bulldoze the property and I can no longer edit any other properties. I also can't place properties from the gallery. It says "not available for this lot". Moving a household into the property does not fix this.
What do you expect to see? Fully functional editing of vacant property.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes - upon latest patch and installation of For Rent pack.

This is also happening to me. I am the Landlord and the lot is unoccupied. Doesn’t matter if I go into build/buy from the lot or from edit worlds, it just will not let me edit anything without instantly reverting back. 
I did just restart my game and that has seemed to of helped so I’m not sure if it will be a persistent bug or just (hopefully) a one off for me
