[FIXED] NPC Sims whose names have been changed have reverted back

After last update (20/07/2021) most of my sims in game has changed their name. 

I play in french version of the sims, so I made always 2 changes in family names: 

Sonia Gothik -> Bella Goth

Family Gothik -> Goth

Family Plezonas -> Landgraab.

Additionaly with story progression few of sims had changed theirs surnames acording to their husbands

Eva Capriciosa -> Eva Munch

Katrina Caliente -> Katrina Flex

After yesterday update I see that my sims has been renamed to initial names, so Bella Goth is again Sonia Gothic, and Eva is again Caprisiosa. 

What is strange that for Example Alexandre Goth and Malcolm Landgraab weren't be renamed. I suppose is because they changed their age during progress. But Malcolm's wife has been renamed to her maid name.

Any sims who i changed their names or changed their surnames when they married reverted to their original name 

Seems in the other thread this was merged with, there are two completely separate issues. One is having sims names disappearing, (blank names) and the other is names changing. I think these need to be separated once again to avoid confusion. I've been having names revert to the original NPC they were based on. I have not seen any names vanish. People are claiming the bug is fixed, but are referring to the vanishing names returning after the hot patch. That's all well and good, but it doesn't address the name changing issue which still exists after the hot patch.

This happened to me on PC as well, and I have a feeling I know exactly what is happening.

All of the pre-made sims have localization keys associated with their names. For whatever reason (my hunch is new localization entries), when you load a save made prior to the July 20th patch after applying the patch, it reads the names from the localization keys, rather than the save file. As far as my experience goes, it doesn't change household names, just the names of sims.

If you edit all the names back to what they were in the old save and save the game, the edited names remain on reload, so it's just an issue with loading saves made prior to the patch.

That's exactly the problem. You've articulated it well enough for even me to understand.. Makes perfect sense to me. I should also point out, it's not just the saves... It's sims made prior to the patch as well. If I load a previously edited NPC with a changed name, then the same issue occurs.

Same. Can confirm this happened on PS4 AND PC. This is happening ONLY with Maxis created pack townies though & no other sims. Not even random generated sims found in world. I can provide details.

I have used the Morgyn Ember sim to create Morgana Macawber (from Darkwing Duck) & she is now renamed Morgyn Ember. When I download Morgana (who was uploaded last year as Morgana) from the Gallery she is now renamed Morgyn. No other changes. The gallery even shows her named Morgana.

I also used Sergio Romeo to make Gladstone Gander. Gladstone was then cloned to make Mark Beaks & Mark Beaks was cloned, then aged down to make Boyd Gearloose. All three of these Sims are now in my game named Sergio Romeo. I forgot I used Sergio to make them! Anyways on the gallery they too are called Gladstone, Mark & Boyd. All were created in 2019 but not uploaded until 2020.  I am providing screenshots of the gallery listings & how they appear in my game on both PS4 & PC. All gallery Sims were uploaded before the latest update.

I know though that the problem for me is only Maxis sims because I did this same process with MANY of my families. Many of them were created BEFORE play with genetics was added. One of my oldest families the "Goofs & Geefs" was originally created in early 2019. Goofy Goof was created in CAS using a townie I found & liked the look of. I cannot recall the name but I was at the time very bad at creating Sims so I did this a lot. I then uploaded Goofy to my PS4 library (Gallery did not exist yet). I added him to my family 5 times then changed the sims in CAS to create Marth Geef, George Geef, Max Goof etc. All the sims were created off Goofy but aged up, down or gender changed to fill out the whole family then slightly edited to make them look different enough. All these sims should have the name Goofy Goof but they retain there given names on PS4 & PC.

Daisy Duck was also another Sim in my original game play from 2018 when I 1st bought the game. She was used to create her whole family as well Donna, April, May & June. Daisy should be named something like Sandra & so should the rest of the family but she remains Daisy.

Sorry for the length of links but I wanted to provide as much info as possible for the devs. I can upload a save as well but I'm fairly sure it would be pointless as this happens on all platforms. Tell me otherwise if I am wrong.

@DainKinkaideNot for me. I created a new game save today too test this & downloaded a gallery household uploaded July 2020. Gladstone Gander was created from Sergio Romeo of Windenburg. On the gallery his name is Gladstone. But when added to CAS his name reverts to Sergio Romeo.
