Occult types are spawning like crazy in my Sims game!!

I first noticed it when my sim was working at her retail shop, and literally all of her customers were aliens. Upon further investigation, I opened my 'manage households' window, to find that about 50 new families had spawned in the span of a sim day, and they were basically all occult. About 50% were aliens, 30% spellcasters, 10% vampires, and 10% human. I deleted ALL of them, and within a couple of sim days, another 50 occult families had spawned.

This just started happening to my game a few weeks ago, and I swear it's gotten progressively worse since then. Though, maybe it just seems worse ... I've gotten so sick of going through my 'unplayed households', that I usually only do it about once per sim week now. And by then, I have 100+ occults to delete. It takes about 10 minutes just to delete the aliens, which are all easily identifiable by their thumbnail, unlike the other occult types, which can only be confirmed by going into CAS (Yeah .... no!).

I DO have MCCC, and I tried fiddling with the occult settings to see if that would help, but it didn't. And to be sure it wasn't a glitch in the mod, I removed it, and still had the same issue in a clean save. I've not yet checked to see if I have the issue with a new save.

To be sure: After removing MCCC, you deleted all the occults again and they spawned again ?

What follows is a trend that I see in my data, but I hope it will be helpful.
Townies seems to be generated based on the World that you visit. For example, when I visit San Myshuno or Mr. Komorebi's World, Townies with a Japanese name are generated a lot, and when I visit a park, children and Teens seems to be generated.
In your case, there are many Aliens. Do you have a scientist career sim in your own sim, or did that sim operate an antenna or other equipment used by the scientist career? Or you often visit Sigzam by rocket? If so, many aliens are generated all at once. Vampires also seem to increase the rate at which vampires are generated if you interact with NPC vampires or live in Forgotten Hollow.
With the above points in mind, why not try the game without mods? If it still doesn't work, you may want to try repairing the game. Repair the games may also change the generation pattern.

@Pick-a-boo_doo Nope. No scientist career or alien invasion objects. My sim hasn't used any rockets since well before this bug started happening. I don't use the wormhole generator either. I don't visit Sixam. I don't even visit Forgotten Hollow much (unless I need to use the library). My sim spends the majority of her time home alone in Newcrest. I'm currently on a mission to earn her all of the university degrees, so I've rarely been on a commercial lot because I don't have the time. I know. Weird, right?

The game still spawns hoards of occult sims even with mods removed, and using a fresh save file. However, I'm about to try it with a completely new save (sans mods) and see if it's still happening.

@crinrict That is correct. Removed MCCC, deleted all unplayed households, and the occult spawned back at an alarming rate.

I did start an entirely new save file (new world, new sim) and again deleted all of the inactive households. I have to leave the house in a few, so I was only able to monitor about 2 sims days' worth of spawning.

How often do occult sims spawn anyway? Because while I've only looked at about 16 generated sims thus far, the ratio STILL seems like it's off. Out of the 16 I looked at, 1 was a spellcaster, 2 were mermaids, 2 were werewolves, and 3 were aliens. 50% is still occult ... And my brand new sim hasn't ventured outside of Willow Creek. I took her to the club once, to spawn some NPCs, but other than that, she's been on her home lot.

I have to venture into RL for a bit, but I'll be back later to do some more sleuthing. I've never shared a save file before, so if you're thinking I need to send one, shoot me a link to a tutorial or something.

@slytheringoddes Maxis will usually ask if they need one.

It does sound a bit off that you are getting so many but 50 new households within a day is excessive as such no matter what Sims are spawning.

@crinrict So I've had some time today to play my new save file for a bit. The spawning has decreased significantly (in my old save file as well), but I'm still getting overwhelmed with occults - specifically aliens.

Every 3 Sims days or so, the game decides to generate about 25 single, alien households. This has happened in both my old save, and the brand new save file I loaded to test this issue.

If I delete all of alien households, more aliens spawn. If I delete all but a few aliens, even more spawn. If I don't delete any of the aliens, they STILL spawn and add to the heap.

Heeeeelp! Please .... anybody. I'm willing to try most anything at this point.

Okay, so I was mistaken when I said that my townies were generating at a slower pace.
About 15 minutes ago, I went into my household manager to prune my 'Not-In-World' Sims ... I yeeted all of the ugly sims (victims of bad randomization), and those who were visibly occult (there were at least 20 aliens). I had reduced my homeless families from about 50 to 18. I played my game for only 15 minutes when I started noticing dozens of aliens walking up and down the sidewalk outside of my Sim's house. So, I went back into my household manager.
In 15 minutes of gameplay (which isn't much considering how much my PC lags playing the Sims) here's what changed:
- My homeless count jumped from 18 to 42
- 19 of those households were single-family aliens
- The same 18 families I'd previously spared were all still there and unchanged
So ... within 15 minutes after ridding my game of unwanted characters, and having barely even played through a full day in-world with my sim, my game generated 24 brand new households in addition to the 18 that were already there ... 19 of those fresh generations were unwanted alien genetics ... And only a whopping 5 of those additions were actual human households ... And I kept ZERO of them, as the bad randomizer struck my humanoids once again (every single sim had African-dark skin and bleach blonde hair. EVERY. ONE.).
I included a screen cap from the view I've been cursed with. But don't be fooled by its uneventful homogeneity.
It may APPEAR like a boring screen cap, but look at the scroll bar to understand my horror ...
It's sorted by 'date added', meaning that those 18 acceptable households that I kept are at the bottom of the page.
And the new households occupy everything from the top of the page to where my scroller stopped.
Mostly an endless wall of aliens, but with the rare albino African thrown in to disrupt the monotony.
This blows.

@crinrict At first, yes.

I played the new test save (sans MCCC) for about an hour. I mostly just put the game on high speed and left it alone. And while it wasn't AS bad as my main save file, I was still getting lots of generated townies, with an emphasis on occult and aliens. The ratio was about 40/60 overall. And 40% occult types is still WAY above what it should be.

So I put MCCC back and returned to my former game. I'm fairly certain my bug is not with MCCC (my only mod, which is regularly updated).

I dunno. If it keeps going like this, I'll probably just stop playing for a few months while whatever is going on runs its course.

This is strange. I have all DLC too, and never encounter such a problem in my game (My game only created 5-10 new townies per week, and they are all normal townies, although I have over 400 sims in my starting save so maybe this help too).
I can’t help you with it but maybe you could try bienchens mod less fame (Expansion Pack -> Get Famous -> townieoverhaul_lessfame -> nonewaliens.package) You could try her other modules too, maybe it help with the townie creation.
I use only her alien module + barfly. It always worked for me without issue, and I never got new aliens (I only allow 10 aliens in my game, because I think they should be rare!)
