[LD] Can't ask Freddy about Alice Sorrow

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.110.265.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? - Repost from EA forums - Don't know which packs OP over there has
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Ask Alice for her quest and then try to ask Freddy about Alice's Sorrow
What happens when the bug occurs? The option is greyed out on Freddy.
What do you expect to see? The option to continue with the task.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This is a repost from the bug report at EA forums.

It's a bit hard to get info from folks and I personally can't duplicate this.

Possible cause could be that two Sims are doing the quest at the same time (also tried that though and wasn't able to duplicate).

Maybe someone here also has the issue and can give some more info.

    I have a household of three sims - mom, dad and a child. I tried the two adults to complete the quest & only the mom was able to do it. The dad, who actually is in the mortician career and has the ghost historian aspiration got stuck at the same spot. He cat’t ask Freddy about Alice’s sorrow, even though he came to talk to him directly from Alice. The option is greyed out even after visiting other lots and deleting and restarting the quest.

    That has also happened to my sims. if two of them are doing the quest. The first one asking Freddy will get an answer, the second on can't ask for Alice's sorrow. Even if you wait for  a day or more.

    and sorry that i copy so mutch, but my english is not the best

    I have clear my Cache, Repair the game and Dont play whit mods since a Year.

    Same here, had a similar issue…

    Product: The Sims 4
    Platform: PS5
    Which language are you playing the game in? English
    How often does the bug occur? every time*
    What is your current game version number? 2.03
    What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage Living, Get Together, Island Living, Cats & Dogs, Discover University, Vampires, Snowy Escape, Life & Death + etc.

    What happens when the bug occurs? Alice gives no chat option to finish quest even though the quest is at “Return to Alice” stage.

    How can we find the bug ourselves? Fairly certain that accepting this quest while grouped (after a date) broke its progress. Stages of the broken quest were missing (no Deimos stage) others (like mark of Edith) had to be repeated and didn’t “take”. One sim completed the quest (during same play session) without issue, the other was broken. Both sims also experienced problems with overlapping Ghost Historian aspiration goals. (That kind of quest overlap should flag extra QA attention).
    What do you expect to see? Normal quest progression, the option to finish Alice’s sorrow. A game that simply stops you from taking a quest while grouped if they didn’t program the game to actually accommodate that option. (Pretty simple right?).
    Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No. Never.
