Please describe the patch or change you made. Life and Death expansion pack
I wasn't quite sure how to word the title as it's something I just discovered. I'm not sure it's entirely related to Life and Death, however, I didn't see this problem until after it, so I'm putting the pack as the tag for now. The problem I encountered is very similar to the loose tooth bug where it would shrink the child sim's face to where they aged up, it would look weird and off compared to what they are supposed to look like. My affected sims are sims born to Grim with the Grimborn trait. I don't know if it's only sims with that trait or new sims born that are affected. This will be something I'll have to explore more on. I saved the two kids when they were infants and aged them up to see what they looked like. They looked pretty normal. After aging them to a toddler, they seemed to be normal, though maybe that's when the bug occurred. I noticed it when I aged them to a child in-game. Their noses were so high up and small and that's when I got suspicious. When I took them in cas and aged them to young adult, their features were off compared to the versions saved when they were infants.
Here is twin 1 in what she should look like.
Here is what she looks when she was aged up to child (then YA in cas) in-game.
Here is twin 2 with what he was supposed to look like.
Here is what he looks like after being aged up in-game (then in cas).
I'm really sorry that I can't give more definitive answers at the moment. It's something I will have to explore more. All I can say is that I have aged infants, toddlers, and kids up since the 10/22/24 pack and they haven't had this problem. I will have to see if it's babies born in game or if it's babies born to Grim specifically. I will do more testing and come back to edit more, but wanted to write this down while I still thought of it. I'm pretty bummed that I encountered this because the versions that I saved when I aged them to infants (then in cas) are the versions I really love. I'm not sure when this issue occurred, if it was between aging them up to toddlers or aging them up to children. I will test and have a sim have a baby in game and age them up in game, then in cas to see where the issues lie and if it's grim related or in general. All I know is that this is not supposed to happen.
Edit 1: I did some quick testing. I had a sim have a baby with Grim. I aged up the baby straight away and every time I'd age them up, I would take them in cas to see if anything had changed. it appears that the genetics work fine up until they age up to a child. That's when the problem occurs. I then tried having two sims have a baby (not with Grim) to see if it's Grim specific or all babies. The non-Grim baby aged up normally. So, whatever is going on, it appears to only affect sims with Grim as the father. I don't know if this matters or not, but I had a baby with Grim via calling him from the Grimophone that came with the Reaper's Rewards event. I don't know if that makes a difference, but including that bit just in case. I've updated the title to reflect more on the issue.
Here is test baby with Grim before in-game aging up to child.
Here he is afterwards. A more subtle change, but you can see the nose a bit higher and his eye shape different than the pre-aging one.
