[NEEDS INPUT] [CD] Cured animals keep visual symptoms for a while

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.136.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Eco Lifestyle, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Island Living, Seasons, Get to Work Parenthood, Vampires Laundry Day Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When a family Dog is ill (Blue icy skin illness) they visit the Vet to have a check up, once the check up is completed and the expensive treatment is chosen the pet still shows the effects of the illness. (blue icy fur) I have then signed them in for a check up, for them to be listed as healthy and opted to have the preventative shot. Their fur still shows as though they are ill. This has happened to both family dogs.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Dogs & Sims continue their normal ways are do not appear to be affected by the illness effects still being visibly present. The Dog's appearance is just unable to return to 'normal'.
What do you expect to see? Once treatment is successful the pet returns to their healthy state with no sign of the illness present,
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

  • I usually cure my pets with a wellness treat from the vending machine at the front of the vet clinic. That might work instead?

  • Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

I've just tried this but it doesn't seem to have worked. One of the dogs is now back to normal, so hopefully the other will soon; just no idea how one got fixed.

  • I had this recently, with the red nose illness - took dog to Vet, chose expensive treatment, but still had red nose, went for check up, told dog was healthy. I tried a wellness treat too and debug object. After that I went back to a previous Save Game I think, or possibly lost a few days progress by exiting without saving. In either case the dog hasn't been ill since! Nice to know it will eventually sort itself.

  • It was only a visual bug on both pets.

I've continued playing as normal and the issues seems to have resolved itself but it was present for some time.

  • I'm having this issue currently, second time on second pet during two weeks of game play. I had to load a saved version of my pet because this bug persisted over 3 days and several log out/ins. I have tried the wellness treat but the bug persists and it has been two days now. It shows the dog has the dizzy symptom. he is behaving normally otherwise. I was running the full needs cheat. no mods.

Can someone please suggest another work around? If i load a saved version of my pet the relationship values and training are all reset and I've had this pet for ages. Any help is appreciated.

  • @Tsubaki13 I can account for a fellow console player who took their sick dogs to the vet to be cured via wellness treats. After feeding one to both dogs, they still proceeded to vomit incessantly on the floor of the vet clinic for another hour or so although they were technically cured.
  • Same issue for me too but with a cat. Blue icy fur still present after two wellness treats.
