What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything but the new high school expansion and a few kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Beyond playing the game, I have no idea.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sim is working on leveling up a skill (in my case, a child was researching on the computer to gain their last Mental Skill level), and spontaneously gains multiple levels to max out an unrelated skill (6 levels of Motor Skill, in this case).
What do you expect to see? I expect gaining skills to actually mean something and not happen instantaneously and without reason. Do I really need to explain this?
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

The child of my new (and apparently very buggy) household was researching on the computer to gain her last level of Mental Skill, when an array of notices suddenly appeared to announce I had gained a level... in Motor Skill. Six times, in rapid succession, until the skill was maxed out. WHAT??? How is this stuff even happening?
I knew better than to buy a new expansion before they got whatever mess that no doubt is fixed up, but boy will I be more careful about patches in the future. o.o
