I've managed to get a somewhat stable workaround, which is similar to what was discussed before. It doesn't guarantee success and of course it doesn't guarantee the best grades. But it works most of the time.
When starting, I do all possible homework, finish and send all papers and finish all presentations as well as send sim to class with said presentations to complete the task.
Then I play with whichever family I want.
I make sure to go back to the Uni family at the end of semester. It turns out there is no need to do this before exams - except if you want to try to get the best grades.
I repeat the same for each start and end of the each semester.
The Sims TeamMarked as Solution for Visibility. This is still an open issue.
