The best thing would be for them to take the old files that handle the eyes before the updates and replace the newer files with the older files. If they want to add the new eyelashes, start from scratch and implement them without obstructing the eyes. Make the new eyelashes work with the eyes not make the eyes work with the new eyelashes. Or if it's easier, as mentioned, just get rid of the new eyelashes altogether as we already have plenty of CC eyelashes out there that look better. Whatever it takes, we need our sims back! Us storytellers need to be able to continue on with our stories. These last few months have been painful.
Hello,
I did another test, just to show you how terrible this thing is @EA_Cade
For this test, I did a simple sleeping pose I will use to demonstrate the bug, because unfortunately it's the only way to explain the issue more properly, by comparing in an animating program and then how it translates in the game.
To achieve this result in the game with the eyes being closed like this :
In a posing/animating program, I had to do this :
There is clearly an error of how the eyelids translate in the game since the lovestruck patch. I'd like to know if maxis is aware of this issue and if they will fix this, as it affect every animations in the game.
If I'm closing the eyes as usual in the program,
this is the result I get in the game :
And no, it's not the program fault. This happens since the lovestruck patch and again, it affects all the animations from the game, even the vanilla ones. I believe a data from the eyelids or something similar has been touched and it needs to be reverted back.
I don't know what to show more at this point, I think this is the most straightforward I could do to demonstrate the bug.

Please fix this bug, it's been around way too long

Yeah, the issue is that obviously animators shouldn't do that and instead the bug should be fixed. The eyes can't be used at all in their current state.
The eyelids closing animations on CAS has the bug aswell, and it's very obvious, as if sims struggle to close their eyes entirely. It looks like the data used to read animation from the eyelids is halved in the game, but not sure if it's really the case.
The thing is that they could just revert the eyes with how they used to be before the lovestruck patch and the eyelashes would still work just fine. Eyelashes just need a correct weight paint to the eyelids. I don't understand why they had to do this bug with the eyes, absolutely makes no sense. And I don't say that as if I had 0 knowledge about how rigging, animating and mesh works.
So this bug is probably just a bug, and it's probably not there on purpose either, because it has 0 purpose other than being obnoxious for players that enjoy their sims look, players that enjoy looking at their sims and taking screenshots, but also for creators.- DoublePlusBon6 months agoSeasoned Hotshot
This bug is catastrophic, but what bothers me just as much is the lack of communication. We're literally being ignored on purpose, and that's unacceptable.
