Yup, I'll chime in.On The Sims Forums, I have made a discussion about self-discovery (by looking into tuning files) and I'm keeping it up to date as best as I could.https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/discussion/1008061/self-discovery-an-attempt-to-understand-tuning-filesAnd while all the traits from the previous DLC are included, Horse Ranch traits aren't. So yes, your sims can't have a self-discovery moment for Horse Lover and Rancher traits.

Keeping it updated.The lastest pack brought a new personality trait:Practice Makes PerfectIt has no self-dicovery moments unfortunately.So yeah, I get that it's log-in unlock reward, but still...It also doesn't affect Social Compatibility.Horse Ranch traits are still missing self-discovery moments.

Keeping it up the date.As The Sims Forums have moved since then, the collection thread is now located here instead.2 new Life & Death traits have self-discovery moments. The only trait that doesn't have one is Macabre.Horse Lover trait now affects social compatibility. Rancher trait still doesn't, but it does affect attraction.So, at the current state, these traits don't have self-discovery moments:Horse LoverRancherChild of the VillagePractice Makes PerfectMacabre

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have your sim perform an activity from a pack that is associated with a certain trait. For example: have your sim increase the fabrication skill by making candles or using the fabricator from the Eco Living pack. These are activities that sims with the maker trait excel at.
What happens when the bug occurs? nothing
What do you expect to see? The sim earning the maker trait at some point.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

This is a shame. I hope the Horse Ranch traits are eventually added to self discovery and social compatibility. I also noticed the animal enthusiast trait doesn't seem to include horses (unless I am missing something?). I wish interacting with a horse gave these sims positive moodlets like it does with other pets.

No new self-discovery moments added to Horse Lover, Rancher, and Practice Makes Perfect traits. Lovestruck traits to be determined once the pack comes out.
However, Horse Lover trait now does affect social compatibility. Sims that like Pet Enthusiasts will like Horse Lovers and other way around with dislikes.
I'll come back once Lovestruck comes out.

Keeping it up with Lovestruck.
Both Lovestruck traits (Romantically Reserved and Lovebug) have self-discovery moments. However, they do not affect Social Compatibility.
