[OPEN] [GTW] Cloning Machine doesn't clone base traits
Cloning machine not functioning properly to Clone Sims, in my game. The Clones have none of the main traits, and traits cannot be added. At first, I was playing with mods, Coolspear1's Career Mods(Scientist/Doctor Reimagined, and Retired Scientist), and Deaderpool's MC.
These are the steps I took in trying to correct the problem:
Removed All mods-No effect
Repaired the Game via Origin- No effect
Started a new save game to verify that my save wasn't corrupt- No effect
Reinstalled MC, attempted to use the CAS to ADD traits to clone, using the new save- Clone suddenly appeared to gain the Perfectionist trait, which was not present in the original.
Moved Sims 4 folder from My Documents, and readded my save files after making the game regenerate the folder, and accessed the original Save- The Clone, which previously had no traits, suddenly ALSO had Perfectionist, just like the clone from the New Save.
Forced the game to Regenerate its' folder in My Documents again, this time starting with a clean save, with no mods, or other potentially corrupt saves- The issue carried over, and is still occurring.
A bit more info: When I look at the Trait slots in CAS, there is literally a blank spot, as in, no trait slots whatsoever.
A theory: I'm guessing that if you somehow stopped the popup that lets you choose the first Trait for a new baby, and went to CAS, you'd see the same thing in trait slots... Literally no link whatsoever, likely.
Reinstalling the entire game, with the Documents/ElectronicArts/Sims4 folder also removed.
Suspected culprit is MC Command. However, WHAT it corrupted is strange in its' own right... I will be doing some further testing, after making backup files, and redownloading Mc Command to assure I hadn't simply forgotten an update. However, I had the Coolspear1 Mods as well. Either way, I do believe I've answered my own question, and the answer is moot now, aside from when the game reinstalls, I will have to pinpoint the mod doing this, if it doesn't just turn out to be a freak glitch and a rogue corrupted file. I like these mods, so I should tell them if they have a problem :D Either way, I do believe this is a problem best solved through other people, but I would like to keep this open, in case it's still there after a full reinstall with no mods present... Of course, at that point I'd have to assume it's a problem with a patch that nobody ever noticed, because it is a rare occasion that most simmers have reason to use the Cloning Machine to clone Sims...
