[ARCHVIED] Sims can't become soulmates

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure how it can be reproduced
What happens when the bug occurs? In a few households of our save file, the couple can never reach soulmate status. They get stuck on Lovers. We tried relationship cheats to have Soulmate manually added but it still shows the symbol of Lovers and also states this in the sim profile.
What do you expect to see? I expect to get soulmate status on all sims that maximizes their relationship meter.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Same thing happened to me. My two sims were married with maximum friendship and max relationship status, but only ever achieved "lovers".

I had to use testingcheats on and then modifyrelationship [Sim1FirstName] [Sim1LastName] [Sim2FirstName] [Sim2LastName] X LTR_Romance_Main and set their romance to 100. After that they achieved soulmates. 

Shouldn't have to use cheats but it seems like nothing on the Sims 4 is working as intended.

This happens every now and then with my sim couples too. It’s unbelievable that this has been going on for so many years without the issue being resolved or even properly addressed.

It occasionally occurs when two sims are soulmates and their relationship decays to the point where their relationship status changes to lovers. When you rebuild their romance and/or friendship, their status as lovers gets stuck, even with a maxed out friendship and romance bar. The only way to “fix” it is to cheat the relationship down and then up again(sometimes it takes several attempts). It really shouldn’t be necessary to cheat in order to fix a glitch in the game.

Except that's not it. I've had Sims starting a romance for the first time ever who get stuck at Lovers, not Soulmates.

Even using the cheats is a little wonky and doesn't always work, but after finagling a bit I did fix it on my current Sims. Still ridiculous it's even required.

Hi! I’m still relatively new at playing Sims 4 on console. I recently asked a question on here about a “gardening glitch”, and fortunately it was resolved, so I’m hoping I’ll have luck on this problem as well. I have recently decided to attempt the Soulmate Aspiration with my sim, and things were going great… until I got to level 3: Love Handler. I cannot find a way to “achieve soulmate status” with my husband. The thing is, we started off as friends, became good friends, best friends, etc., before we eventually decided to get married and all. We didn’t have a “wedding”, but he proposed, she said yes… the usual, but now that we are both actively trying to gain the Soulmate Aspiration, it doesn’t seem to be letting us move pass this step. Our green friendship bar and our pink relationship bar are both completely full, but still nothing. I even spent 3+ Sims hours just having a conversation with my husband. No fast forwards, no autonomy, nothing. The only thing we achieve was a close family dynamic, due to the Growing Together pack. I understand this is a bug that many have struggled with, from all my research, but I have yet to find any console players that have received any tips/recommendations. Can anyone help me?

move tried everything I could think of and in this game I do not use cheats! Can we get a friggin update or something? First it was the sims not using the sinks next tot he toilet and that took forever to get fixed and now this? Come on..

Many people have been saying their sims only achieved lovers, but mine are still at acquaintances. They have 3 kids, 4 grandkids, were broken up and then got married, have 2 positive romantic sentiments, best friends, full romance and friendship, and I don’t really know how to use the whole -200 cheat thing. I’m trying to complete all aspirations and have had bugs with them in past, such as athlete, seeing as my sim has the max amount of muscle, yet the aspiration wasn’t marked as done, but this seems to be a different problem. I’m not opposed to just using cheats, but I don’t quite know how any cheats would achieve that relationship. As well, my other two sims in the household cannot achieve it either, without having the aspiration.

also as a note I would prefer not to decay and rebuild their relationship but will do if necessary

I am having this issue with only one couple out of all the households I play. This couple has friendship and romance bars maxed out, they are girlfriend/boyfriend, best friends, smitten with each other, yet the game shows them as Acquaintances (seeing their profiles from both Sims's perspectives) . 

I have 2 elder sims who have been married since Young Adult age, they have both 100/100 bar relationship and still are only at "lovers"

EDIT: I had to cheat and put their bars at 0, and then back to 100 and  it completed the aspiration and they are now showing as soulmates.
