I've noticed the same thing - although I'm still playing my original Sims. All the dig sites have disappeared and are not respawning. There are none to be found in any neighborhood, in the Forgotten Grotto, in the Sylvan Glade, all gone and the frog spots are gone too in the Sylvan Glade (except for the pond).

How are we doing with this ?

I know they still take forever and only work when you're on the lot but I think they've added some cleanup/reset function that food shouldn't be on there so much.

Anyone have any feedback of those of you where the spawner stopped working altogether ?

I can answer this!

My Sims take tents and camp out in the Grotto or in the Glade now for a day or two when I want to get those dig sites to respawn. They do - eventually. 😪

So, bring the portable campfire and the game table, spend a day fishing in the Grotto for rare fishies and then collect from the high-grade dig sites before leaving! 😃

Do you still have food all over the park  ?

I played my legacy a few days ago and food was still all over the park, dig sites respawn for me but it takes a while (which is normal I guess). xD

For me, it's same old same old when it comes to the plants on community lots and at the hidden locations. The growth takes a really long time so that my sims have to spend a couple of days at the Grotto or wherever before they can harvest. The dig sites and frogs do respawn around every 24 hours, so I think that in my case it's just a matter of slow plant growth and not really the bug that the OP is experiencing, ie. mine is a feature and not a bug.
