Hi guys!

I’m having some issues with the Grim Reaper at the moment. I have a farm with some chickens and a cow. the chicken coop and the cow shed are split with a fence but are fairly close to each other. Every morning when I go to collect the eggs or clean/refill the shed, the grim reaper appears and won’t leave. I can save the game, go into build mode and do everything else but when my sims sleep the time won’t go by quickly because of him. He tends to go when I add him to the family then remove him, but he’s always back the next morning once I’ve clicked to collect the eggs, cleaned/refilled the shed or clicked on the chickens or cows. All my pets are either adult or young adult and no one is near death whatsoever. I have tried without mods/cc and that still doesn’t fix it. Can anyone think of what this could be and a workaround for it? I really want to use the chickens and cows but I’m thinking I might have to get rid of them at this point!

Hopefully someone can help, I’d appreciate it so much!

  • @crinrict I’ve looked and there is nothing else dying on the lot. None of my animals are elders either, only adults or young adults. I’ll read through the thread a bit more though and see if there’s anything else I can try.
  • @crinrict ah I see. I’ll have to have a look around then. If a fox is dying on some lot, does it eventually die? Because it’s happening every day in-game and surely the fox would have died by now? hahahaha

@mmmpatty No, cause the fox and the reaper dead lock each other out. The fox can't die cause the reaper can't reap him and the reaper can't reap cause he can't access the fox.

You can try resetting the reaper but finding the fox and resetting the fox seems to work better.
  • @crinrict Okay sounds good! I’ll look around tomorrow and get back to you then if I can’t find a fox. Thank you for your help and quick responses!
  • This is happening to me too. I’m on PS4. Cannot find a fox that is dying either.

  • @crinrict okay so I went through every lot and couldn’t find a fox or other wild animal that was dying. Saying that, I could have easily missed it cause it’s snowing heavily in game. When I was looking through all the different lots, I tried to click on a different chicken coop from a different lot and family and the Grim Reaper didn’t show up. So it’s definitely only with my current family and the lot they’re on.

@mmmpatty I moved the animal shed to the household inventory and then back and that made the reaper disappear.

Did you place the animal shed with MOO ? I had to delete some trees to be able to place it again

I don't know if he comes back or if it works if you do that but I'll leave the testing to you.

Also you seem to have several grim reapers now. That might also be an issue.

You will probably need to install MC Command Center to make them visible and then delete.

  • @crinrict Omg thank you so much! I cant believe it was such an easy fix!! Sorry for wasting your time like that. And yeah okay I’ll delete the extra grim reapers for sure hahahaha! Thanks once again.
  • @mmmpatty okay so i’ve figured out the fix (in my case anyways) for the grim reaper not leaving.

i traded my cow and realised that when i clicked ‘assign an animal’, there were 3 more cows there available for me to assign that i had bought previously. i still don’t know where they come from and if they’re just in the household inventory but i assigned a new cow from that list and realised that it was on ‘one last pet’. the grim reaper appeared again and reaped the cow. i did that to the other two cows who were also on ‘one last pet’ and the grim reaper left and hasn’t come back except for when it needs to. hopefully this helps other people that may have the same issue and can’t find a dead fox around that could be glitching it!

@mmmpatty Interesting. Didn't even realize you have more than one cow there. Guessing that's what dead-locked the Reaper :D

    Glad he's gone now.
