Oh gosh a long time ago. I haven't used mods in almost a year. 

I just had the photos turn black issue as well. Playing University for the first time, had the kid copy a bunch of photos from his parents, moved him into the dorm, had him place his inventory (of his stuff he's collected as a kid, for later use in his new house after graduation) into the ICYA chest. When I took the photos out they were all black.

No, I do not have mods (at the moment).

Yes, I tried the cache clear trick.

I made sure I was updated and repaired for good measure.

I have Realm of Magic, Island Living and Discover University.

On Windows 7.

I've had photos placed in sim inventories, house inventory, and moved them a lot between houses and walls, and never had the issue until I put them into the ICYA chest. I haven't tried other chests.

I won't be trouble shooting further or answering questions as I'm too exhausted and ill, this is just a report to say it happened to me after the latest patch pretty much identical the other ICYA chest reports.

I’ve had this happen now at least three times. I thought the problem was fixed and after I got an error in saving all of my pictures turned black, even the museum where the best photographers had been building a history of the family even it’s gone and any paintings that were reference from photographs are also black. I own almost all the packs I was waiting the last teo, but now as this appears to be a problem too big for EA I don’t think I will buy anything more from them. And that’s sad I was very fond of SIMS and I liked the photography.

Did it ever get fixed

Does not matter framed or not in this the latest instance of the problem it occurred coincidentally to an error could not save game so I redid the save and presto 10 generations of pictures through multiple worlds and in museums All black all gone long after this was reported a problem and I thought it was fixed and then black agsin

Mine happen while placed on the wall and then it spreads to all the pictures everywhere. It appears this has been a known issue for 2 years.

Yeah it would be nice if this didn’t keep recurring. It’ll be good for months at a time and then bang everything goes black again

My photos have been fine for months and then wham it’s a bad save and all the pictures on all the walls through all the houses of all the worlds are black. It’s like an Égyptien plague where the angel goes through and turns all the black and then there is the haunting wailing when that SIMS see that it has all been lost. Again. This is as least the third time.
