Sim starts playing game on computer, sims plays while standing with no physical action or movement anywhere on the lot. Doesn't go to the desk, doesn't sit in front of the screen. From there no other actions can be done until reset. Even with a reset the sims stay stagnant.

Conversations first occur but are stagnant afterwards with no physical conversation occurring only smiling and stillness. Most actions do not play. Can't even get sims to find a job.

    HI @AlejaU1

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    After renaming, repair your game by clicking on the dots in EA app.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • Update: I uninstalled Laundry Day stuff and all the bugs were gone. It seems like laundry day stuff causes huge bugs with the new update. At least for my game.

    What happens when the bug occurs? My sim and his tasks with freeze, time will go on, and it appears he continues to do stuff, but he just stops moving. It tends to happen most when washing dishes, or taking a bath. But it's no isolated to those things.
    What do you expect to see? For him to continue to wash the dishes, or wash himself, but he stops moving entirley.
    Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
    Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    I've recently started playing a few days ago, and it's been happening the entire time, I will give him a task and he will go do it, then just stop and stand still, like washing dishes, he'll put his hands to his side with the sponge and dish still in them, and the sing on. Or it will happen while bathing, he'll just stand up and nearly T -pose. I'll attach a few medal clips of him freezing  to show. The only thing that I've found to make him go back to normal is to exit the world and resume it. It's been happening very frequently. I have 0 mods installed, as I've only been playing for a few days, I've tried reinstalling my graphics drivers, and messing around with graphics settings and nothing, I've even tried changing autonomy settings, nothing. I've tried looking it up but found nothing, and all the other bug fixes I've found did nothing to fix it. The game also keeps yelling at me for having items in my inventory that I shouldn't like special DLC stuff, but I have 0 DLC's so I'm not sure how I may have acquired such items, it also doesn't say what items they where, it just tells me an item was removed. When I first loaded up the game it gave me a message about not recognizing my graphics card, for reference it's an AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT. (Not sure if that's helpful at all) Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. I can continue to play like this, having to go to the main menu every few minutes, but it's getting old quickly.

    @OoskarGuy

    I merged your thread with the current master although I'm not 100% sure if it's the same. Thanks for the video. I see you don't have any packs which might be an indication that it's different than others in this thread or that it is the same but it just manifests a bit different.

    Could you provide all the info asked in the solution post that you haven't yet.

    @zzs3abutqe40

  • I do not believe that this forums issue is the same as mine, as I'm still able to save and do things, it's just the sims animation and task freeze, the only way I've found to work around it is to go to the Main Menu, and then resume and then they start moving again and doing whatever the last thing they where doing was. I don't believe it's the same bug because my Sim will still complete tasks, as his needs will still be replenished if I tell him to do something, even if he doesn't move to execute the task.   I've only been playing since the 14th, and this is my first character and world. It's been happening since I started. My sister who's been playing a lot longer has seen it happen before, but not to the extent that I have, she says it happens very rarely for her. Where as in my case it happens constantly to no end.

    Something that might be affecting it, when I first loaded up the game it told me I had an unrecognized GPU and that it might be too old, but that shouldn't be the case as this GPU is only a couple of years old. I tried updating my drivers but nothing changed. I will also occasionally get a message saying that an item was removed from my inventory, stating that the item removed was for a expansion pack I do not have. I don't have any expansion packs, and no mods, so I don't know what it might be removing.

    I will try reinstalling the game, maybe a file got corrupted in download, I hope this is the case, but am rather doubtful.

    If anymore information about my game is required I'll be happy to provide it, just let me know what it might be, and where it should be sent.

    Thank you!

  • I’ve been having this exact issue and I’ve done absolutely everything. I’ve done several factory resets. I’ve reinstalled/repaired the games numerous times. I even tried playing on Windows through EA Play and for some reason it’s still just as broken. I have no custom content installed and havent for several weeks. The only potential reason I have is the possibility of a corrupt pack. Upon reinstalling on Origin, I was missing packs purchased from Steam (Get to Work, Island Living and Werewolves + a few kits) but my game was working completely fine. When I reinstalled those packs through a backup, my game broke once again.

    @Moldy_Cheeze42 It appears I have fixed my issue, I reinstalled the game yesterday, and after doing so had no issues, only thing still happening is the occasional message about having an item I'm not supposed to have.
  • I've done the factory reset, removed all mods and cc and even tried removing my packs. Nothing has fixed this problem by the way.

  • How my own attempts went.

    - Uninstalled game and made sure all DLC and mods were also deleted.

    - Reinstalling just the base game, no issues. Sims are working as they should.

    - When DLC is added back in, the issue returns.

    - Tried to run the game with all my DLC BUT laundry day, since that works for some. Sadly, it did not help.

    No fix, but I can confirm the issue has something to do with one or more of the DLCs since the base game works fine.

  • What would you reccomend for Console players for this issue? When this happens I'm also unable to click anything or pause/rewind/ ect
