@Lucy_Henley Bit inconclusive then if it's caused by a mod or what the reason could be.
Yeah, I understand. It doesn't seem to be affecting my game in any way so I'm not too bothered. I was mainly wondering if it had happened to anyone else.

Caroline now has a fifth Glimmerstone... which I just discovered is her toddler son's. All her other kids (two at the child stage and one at the toddler stage) have theirs. So now Caroline has her own, three random ones and her son's. Maybe she just likes collecting them IDK 😃

Do you have any clue what triggered it ? @crinrict I just noticed this issue for me too. My spellcaster Sim has 5 suddenly. My spellcaster son had 1 and now none. And her wife, who is not a spellcaster at all, has 6. I'm on PS5 so no mods or cc of any kind. I find it odd. And I can't get the wife to destroy hers. I'm too worried about it. Figured you'd want to know it's not just a PC mod/cc issue.
My newest spellcaster suddenly had eight glimmerstones. Unfortunately I don't know when exactly that happened. I noticed them after returning from Batuu when checking my inventory, but they might have been in there even before my caster went to Batuu. I was able to sell seven (for 0 simoleons) via "sell many", so no harm done. Will keep an eye on that sim from now on. I play spellcasters a lot, and never had this problem before.
My sim visited Batuu again and just like last time he returned with multiple glimmerstones (5). Also while on Batuu, his original glimmerstone was visible in the inventory, is that supposed to happen?
