§1,000,000 Challenge Scenario as a Teen (No Cheating)

You have a great beginning there @PenguinFoop. I've not tried that scenario with a teen yet. I've played it twice so far, but with Young adult or adult sims.

I played once with a Kleptomaniac sim. She slowly got more and more expensive items. I cheated heavily in this game because I got bored. I wish I had thought to have her garden! I moved a couple of other sims into the lot but they stayed and got jobs. One big moneymaker was robbing vaults. I put a bank vault (I think they come with City Living) in the Goth house, the Landgraab house, and Don Lothario's house. I filled them with money and sent my sim to liberate funds a bunch of times, while also skilling her and her roommates up. She made a lot of the furniture for their house.

The second time was using a group of 6 sims. I stranded them on a lot in Sulani and pretended they had been shipwrecked. I gave all of them one outfit and gave them the simple living lot trait. they could only eat what they found or caught. I started with the Plant Sim scenario, Judith Ward looks good green. She had a good garden so once I won that I started the Millionaire scenario. Once you have money trees there is no stopping you! Initially I started them out with a couple of pee bushes and some of the towels they can sun themselves on for napping. As they got money I would buy them a boulder to sit or nap on and they were much happier once I gave them some tents. They never did have a proper house, instead I gave them a couple of rooms for toilets and bath/showers, with a roof over a kitchen area. Then I built a square, wall-less area for their beds and clothesline - of course I was mean enough to make them do laundry, with the washtub! Poor Bob Pancakes got obsessed with swimming and wound up drowning in the ocean, but everyone else survived. Judith even still had paparazzi dropping by taking pictures.

That is awesome! I didn't know you could actually put money in the vaults! That would add a possible twist to Aaron's relationship with Malcolm if Aaron was a klepto! I've honestly only played klepto one time in TS4 because it seemed pointless as they couldn't steal anything good. But you're saying they can with time?

Also the second scenario, Great concept, and yeah I've used the wash tub, on the game and in real life. It's never fun in either situation. Lol My mom would make us use the washboard to teach us to appreciate what we had. It worked too! I don't usually take anything I have now for granted. Lol

It's been a while since I played that scenario, but yes, you can put cash in the vault and you can keep adding more. I was wrong about where it came from, the vault is from Get Famous. Once you put money in you'll see a pile of cash in it, and a sim can dive in and roll around in it like Scrooge McDuck. I think they can take a nap and woohoo in the pile too. I remember Nikita had trouble sometimes getting into the vault. She had to flirt with Don Lothario a lot because he kept catching her. It took a while for her to be able to steal really expensive items, like everything else they have to level up. I would send her to various houses to steal lamps or whatever she could get and then later go back into that house to buy that same item so she could steal it again - I stocked a lot of expensive items in various houses just for her to steal. >:) I wish they could steal several items at once instead of having that cooldown right after (I play vanilla, so no mods). Since I was playing the scenario my own way I didn't care that I was cheating, it still took at least 40 game days to get it finished. Once I reached about 700,000 it started to be a grind, creeping ever closer to that elusive million.

@PenguinFoop if you have the Eco Lifestyle pack you can go dumpster diving then go into build mode to sell what you find. You can cheat the dumpster's state by shift-clicking on a dumpster, choosing "trashcan state" then choosing the "overflowing" option.

I carefully make a 2x2 microhome on the smaller lot in Moonwood Mills. I set it to tiny residential, offline, with the geothermal and natural well lot traits. The bed sticks out the wall and is covered with a window box from the werewolves pack. Some window boxes will disappear during gameplay, but not the one that comes in the werewolf pack.

My first try at this, I stripped down this Lucca 2x2 build

To get the light off the front of the building, I stretched the roof so that I could grab it, and then squished the roof back down. I put the cooler on the porch as a chair.

I had no bills at the beginning, and only began to get bills as I accumulated money.

Yes I forgot the dumpster! But I'm doing this without cheats so no artificial dumpster state. Thanks for the tip though!

Yeah I've seen 2x2 tuts before but never made one. They're too cramped for my taste. I always work toward buying a tent then go from there. As it is, Aaron and Malcom just finally got an actual bed! They're, umm, breaking UT umm right now.

I have a no money cheats teenager living in a very, very shoddy 1313 21 Chic Street apartment, furnished with the second hand looking bed, the old couch from basement treasures, used (cheap) kitchen counters, the Needs TLC trait that comes with said apartment etc. Not a clear slate like the scenario but still dirt poor. Will see how she goes in making a life for herself. Right now she’s in high school, burning the candle at both ends working as a barista and acing exams. Fun need and energy almost always in the red.

Eww, that sounds like a worse situation than starting like me. What happens if she doesn't make rent? I've only played one time in apartments.

:D It’s been interesting for sure. So far has had enough from little savings (remember did not cheat but did not zero funds) and her job to pay bills.

We have had all the peculiar smells, mice, leaky pipes, a minor kitchen fire, roaches, sparking wiring, broken plumbing….

Not sure why it can be fun to “torture” Sims…
