Actual Ages
Okay so in the Sims it seems that when their growing up they skip the little bits in between like actually learning things kids have ages like 4 5 6 7 8 9 I would really like this what are your though...

toddlers 1-3
children 4-12
teen 13-19
young adult 20-25
adult 25-50
elder 50 and up

children 5-10
preteen 11-12
teen 13-17
young adult 18-21
adult 22-45
elder 45 and up
Real-world definitions of Young Adult are usually 18-39 or 40, adult 40-65, elder 65+.

By age 30 I didn't consider myself to be a young adult. Many children among several southern tribes considered me to be an elder at age 40.

There is that! The game's visual differences, though, certainly suggest that the developers were looking at the same kinds of lifestage age ranges that are used in sociological research, demographic studies, and the like.
