Actual Ages

Okay, I kinda like this idea (would make it a lot more realistic), but how would the mechanics work? What would constitute a 'year' in sims terms. Atm kids grow up within weeks. Would that be a sim year? If that's the case, it would take forever to go from 1 - 50. On the other hand, if they rush through the years on a daily basis, it would be rather pointless. How do you see this working?

in my game i do
Baby/newborn=1-2
Todder=3-5
Child=6-12
Teen=12-17
Young adult=18-30
Adult=31-50
Elder=51-Death
What are everyone else's age ranges in their game?

Baby: 0 (I wish they're not just objects)
Toddler: 1-3
Child: 7-12
13-14 skipped
Teen: 15-19
YA: 20-30
Adult: 30-59
Elder: 60+

Is this still an active thread? I don’t think I’d want actual years, 1 2 3 13 21 and such. The life stages kinda keeps it simple. It’s fair to say toddlers should be learning potty, walking, talking, and such. And that children are at the playground. But I admit that I was disappointed that they added ‘young adult’ but didn’t add a preteen or tween stage. It’s like they jumped from elementary school to getting a job. Lol. It would be cool to have a stage to bridge the gap.

Toddlers 1-2
Preschoolers 3-5
Child 6-9
Preteens 10-12
Teens 13-18
Young Adult 19-25
Adult 26-49
Older Adult 50-65
Elderly 66+

This is what I envision the desired life states to be, but I don't think actual years should be implemented.

Baby 1-2
Toddler 2-4
Child 5-9
Preteen 10-13
Teen 14-17
Young Adult 17-30
Adult 30-60
Elder 60 - Death

For me it's

Newborn 0-4 months old
Baby 4-12 months old
Toddler- 1 Years to 4 Years
Child - 7 Years to 12 Years
Teen - 13 Years to 18 Years
Young Adult - 19-34 years
Adult - 35- 57 Years

As the game feels now for me with the poorly developed life stages. There's so much gaps and what we have really does not have much detail elders play nothing like elders no older walk styles slim pickings on face mask/wrinkles no unique interactions or features unique to them beyond being able to die if they woohoo to much.

Baby: newborn-2 months... that might even be pushing it
Toddler: 1-3
Child: 6-9
Teen: 16-19
Young Adult: 20-29
Adult: 30-59
Elder: 60+

I've always seen the ages like this:
Toddlers: 2-3 years old
Kids: 7-10 years old
Teens: 16-18
YAs: 20-30
Adults: 35-50
Elders: 55+

I'm fine with some ages being "skipped", as the pre-teen years are irrelevent to me
