It's a Teen game. They aren't going to allow teenagers play a game where it's possible for a parent to not be happy for their child.
My question for them is why would they include the "hates children" trait if it's just moot and without purpose? Is it only for sims to hate the children of others? Which then my question for them: isn't that technically child abuse too? Lol.
I don't see why they couldn't add comedic cartoon humor that represents the hates children trait without making it too raw and realistic. I understand they don't want to promote child abuse, but there's so many ways they can take the trait to actually make the trait something rather than it just wasting a slot.
