Basement question

Question

I have an existing house on a foundation that I’d like to add a basement to. What is the best way to do this?

I thought about removing outside steps, lowering the foundation height, adding the basement, and then re-raising the foundation but haven’t tried yet. I don’t want to mess something up.

How would you do it.

There are two ways:1 - There Is A Basement Option In Base Game - But It Works Weird - If you are on floor 3, it will make room in floor 22 - Just Go On Floor 1- , 2- etc. And Make Room Like On Normal LotI Think I Helped.

The Sim 4 tool is much easier to use than the Sim 3 one. You shouldn't have any issues beyond figuring out where to put the stairs.

That should work, but you may have to remove the 2nd floor stairs first, place the basement stairs, then replace the 2nd floor stairs.

Right. I understand how the tool itself works. I just remember back in sims 3, adding a basement later was a pain. I was wondering if there any gotchas before I attempted it.

Thanks. I assume under the stairs to the second story is good or are there pathing issues like in sims 3?
