As I've always believed is that the build n share challenges are to showcase your imagination and ways of coming up with solutions to builds that you may not have an exact item etc that you can use. This was definitely how it was for TS3, and it was always fantastic seeing what people came up with. If the challenges were easy and too simplistic people would get bored easily. TS3 builders always rose to the challenge and I think it would be a shame not to have challenges which tested our build skills. That way we can learn new techniques by seeing what others have done. I do find the build more much harder to use on the Sims 4 but it took me a while to get used to the Sims 3 to start with.
I like the challenges which test me, it makes me think more and I do a lot more research to find out new ideas. Maybe a solution could be having a 'room challenge' which just uses the base game for inspiration as opposed to a full challenge. And if you'e not happy with the challenge for sims 4 then at least you can still use the sims 3 to take part. That's just my opinion, I was an avid fan of TS3 build n shares but with uni in the way I've yet to start on the sims 4. Hoping to give this one a go though!
