Can you delete basement rooms?

I have been trying and trying, but I cannot remove rooms from my basement. I decorated two guests rooms in my basement (each with a bathroom) But I didn't realize that guests can't/won't use them if they stay over and are exhausted, So I'd like to remove them but it says this action cannot be performed. I'd rather not keep them as they are large rooms and are just driving up my bills to keep them empty.
  • @Linamints if you weren't already able to resolve this, in order to delete a basement room, you have to actually select the room and then hit the delete key. Unfortunately, you can't just use the sledgehammer tool or delete individual walls of a room. I'm glad I saw this post, because it's one of the little, niggly things that has been bugging me for a while. I will add the request to our Build Mode Feedback thread.

Hi @BryonyRae ! I am having the same problem. I tried whAt you told @linamints but it is not working. Is this for any kind of Sims? I need it for Sims FreePlay. :)

Hello! I'm very sorry to hijack your thread, but I am unable to start a new one (so frustrating!). I've been re-doing the Spencer Kim Lewis home and I'm trying to add floor tile to the second floor and it won't let me. It says "needs to be on top". Does anyone know about this? I just want to make use of all that empty space above the first floor. TIA!

  • Thank goodness for google! And thank goodness for all you awesome helpers. I've been trying for the last 30 minutes to delete a basement. Googled and it brought me straight here.
