CAS suggestion or maybe there's a trick to this?

I realise not everyone shares this concern however I still feel it would be a beneficial feature. I use a lot of CC and my sims are created with a lot of layers to give them the realistic depth I want. I find it most inconvenient that for each wardrobe category you must redo the hair, makeup, and sometimes remove items randomly added to your sim - like unwanted hats or funky glasses. It would be nice to have the option to keep all details for each wardrobe category so you don't have to redo things such as makeup etc. Maybe there's a trick to this I'm unaware of. Thoughts?

That would be nice. I do find it annoying that I have to change the preset stuff every time. When I create a new outfit in the same category it lets me clone the previous one but I wish there was an option to do something like "set this hair for all styles" or "set this outfit to all styles". It would be nice for makeup and accessories as well. It would also be nice to be able to lock certain things you like and then when you randomize it won't change those things.
  • I agree 1000%! We should be able to create one look from the beginning and then choose which of those items carriy over to the next category.

For example, my girls always use the same subtle make-up and piercings (if they have any) for every single outfit. I do change up the hair according to which category it is, such as:

Athletic - Same makup as Everyday and some type of updo/ponytail (because that's what I do in RL)
Swim - Same makup as Everyday and some type of messy updo or ponytail (because yeah, who want's their hair clinging to suntan oiled up skin?)
Formal - Darker and more dramatic/eleborate makeup, with a more formal updo, maybe with some hair accessories
Sleep - No Makeup (Or sometimes just no lipgloss because I never have my girls wear heavy makeup, it's usually just subtle so it appears like they aren't wearing any)

Everyday - Same Makeup, Same Hair
Hot - Same Makeup & Hair as Everyday
Warm - Same Makeup & Hair as Everyday
Party - Same Makeup & Hair as Everyday
  • I'd love the ability to create and save styled looks in CAS. Not just clothing presets, but makeup presets as well. Then we could save presets of the makeup looks we use most often.

I tend to use the same lipsticks and eyeshadows all the time (or no makeup at all) because it's the fastest way to set up a new sim without the time consuming hassle of spending half an hour on each category trying to remember which eyeshadow, lipstick, etc was used in the previous category if I want their face to look the same in each one.

I hate not being able to establish presets, or at the very least, carry each makeup look over to the next category.

It's the main reason why I avoid going into CAS as much as possible.... I just don't have the patience for it.
  • @Suceress @Chicklet453681 thanks for your thoughts! I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way! I'm really surprised this annoyance hasn't been talked about more. It is definitely a feature that needs to be incorporated into the next iteration of The Sims. My sims generally use the same contacts, lip, and blush layers, so I am feeling the same pain Chicklet!
  • I do the hair, make-up, and accessories for each category before I actually dress them. I change what I want once they're dressed. When doing make-up, for example, I do the eyeshadow for every category then go on to the eyeliner, etc. Maybe that will help a bit.

I do as well but it's still an inconvenience to have to do each category, especially when certain effects are the exact same regardless of wardrobe. I just wish the devs would incorporate this as an option. Really hope it's something we'll see in the next anticipated Sims 5.
