Choosing Your Sim's Style of Speech

For instance: giving different Sims monotone, energetic, quiet or snobby voices.

Could we have an option to modify Sims' speaking style?
The sims feel emotion, yes, but when they're happy, they all sound EXTREMELY elated. When they're bored, they all sound very bored. When they're sad, they all sound very mopey.
It would feel more natural if Sims had different speaking styles.

My idea would not require introducing new voices, but, rather, create recordings of the 6 existing voices in different ways.
This could open up many options for creating unique Sims and may help enhance emotional traits.
  • yeah it all sounds kinda too similar
and even more than voices i wish i could tone down some sims talking all together like no need to make random sounds all the time

really comes down to let me choose idle actions myself tho
  • I always assumed that the types in CAS are meant to represent different speaking styles. For example, the Lilted one has a sort of inflection/emphasis on the end of the phrase when a Sim speaks which is meant to be different from the Clear style. Perhaps it's just not executed as well as it could be.
  • I am obsessed with how our sims style of speech changes when the "Talk like a pirate" day comes in the game. I want each world to be in a different country, and each country would have a different "accent". Willow Creek would be more french, Oasis Springs more spanish, San Myshuno could be japanese or indian (maybe indian, cuz I still want a traditional japanese world), Britechester could be british english, Brindleton Bay could be canadian english (i don't know if its a thing that exists, but...), Strangerville could be american english (or regular simlish)... Etc Etc...
And when I say that, I don't mean I want them to remove simlish. I just want it to sound different. Maybe they could even expand on this to have each world/accent have a unique greeting. Like, the japanese simlish would bow, the brazilian simlish would hug and kiss your cheeks, the italian one could kiss you on the right cheek and move to the left cheek for a second kiss... etc... haha
It could change the eating style too, like using chopsticks or silverware. etc...
It would be amazing to have that. Maybe our sims could actually travel to the other worlds and learn their local culture like we can learn the selvadoradian one.

@NationalPokedex I think the voice we already have jsut changes the pitch. I have never noticed any difference beyond the pitch. Maybe they could improve the differences adding one new voice actor for each type. Maybe they could even look further into adding one for each vocal range.
  • I think this could work! We're able to choose our Sims' walkstyles, which is new for the series and adds a little personality. Combine that with 3-4 different "styles" of speech, and we could bake up some very interesting sims. (:
  • Yes! I wish that my sim's traits would influence how they move, talk, and interact. Socially, all sims I've had have ended up being the same ):
  • That would be nice. Anything to set the sims apart from each other is nice, tbh.
