I have a new distraction.
I bought Cities: Skylines a long time ago because I was so dissappointed in the direction SimCity went.
I didn't even bother to buy it even at bargain basement prices.
So I am finally getting around to Cities: Skylines and I am so addicted. I've spent the last several days playing it almost continously, barring eating and sleeping. :#
Cities are huge in this game compared to SimCity. This map has unlocks the play area one section at a time. 3 are unlocked ABOVE with an addition 6 more to unlock. SimCity's build areas barely make one of these squares. I have a mod that makes it 25, but I only need 12.
This is actually my second version of this city.
The first version was what I considered a sketch city. I played free-form, without a plan.
When I was done, I knew what my districts would be and what were about. So I started again with a mostly tested plan and fixes for what was seriously wrong with my sketch city.
The Leisure district.
My city is really rolling in the tourism dollars.
Funny side note: their little people are called Cims.
It is everything I was hoping for SimCity.
Too bad EA went for small, social, and always online. :p
