This is the bedroom I created for little Katie for Rosemow's weekly One Room One Week One Theme topic in the Sims 4 Lots forum here. This was the challenge description: "Katie is a toddler and her parents said that she can have her own bedroom! She is so excited! Could you please design a bedroom for her ? There needs to be her teddy in it! Teddy keeps her company overnight! There also needs to be a little nook area for her parents to read a story to her".
First I made the household that would be using this room: Sarah & Katie Jensen. First of all, because I love building with a particular sim in mind, but secondly because I needed them to fully playtest the room. And happy to report, everything works. :)
I went with a pink and purple colour scheme for Katie's bedroom, combined with light coloured wood and some dashes of white. I imagined Katie to be a great animal lover, and besides a number of teddy bears, I also added a bunch of other animals, like unicorns, bunnies and butterflies. The reading nook had to be the focal point of the room, so I built that first and surrounded it with windows and nice lighting so that that space would always be cosy to be in, whether it was day or night. I also wanted the room to have anything a toddler would ever need, so I also added a highchair for dinner, building blocks, the dollhouse, a discreet little corner for pottytraining and another corner where Katie could play on her wabbit tablet or read her first stories on. And finally of course, I needed some clutter to make the room feel lived in! I think there's a total of seven teddy bears in there and enough storage space for all of Katie's favourite toys and pictures.
This is how the room turned out:
The reading nook:

A place to fall asleep listening to bedtime stories:

The play corner:

And the overview of the room:

And here are Katie and her mom Sarah enjoying the room:
Story time!

Dinner is served!

Sarah's cooking is approved ;)

Some essential pottytraining time:

Completely focused on her wabbit tablet:

And at the end of the day, it's time for just one more bedtime story :)

Building this room was so much fun! Really looking forward to creating more! B)
