Hi everyone. š This is the continuation of a story I started back in March on the old Vanilla forum. If you were a regular follower of the 'What Happened In You Game Today' thread, you already know ...
We spent some time at the onsen and I visited a nearby spa too. I donāt pamper myself often but I figured why not, right? We were about to attempt to climb one of the tallest mountains in the world. So a little pampering seemed in order. And I heard about a special message therapy that this spa provides. I thought it would be fun to give it a try.
We almost didnāt made it to the climb. We both decided it would be fun to try skiing and snowboarding. To say the least weāre better at rock climbing than either of those. We drug our bruised egos and backsides back to the hotel. But it was fun to at least try.
The climb itself went fantastic. The weather cooperated with us the entire time. The scenery was breathtaking. So was the cold.
Tre did scare me at one point on the Croft Icefall. I really thought he was going to take that last part too literally. But he assured me he wasnāt going to fall. He just needed to work out a cramp.
Climbing Croft Icefall is a huge challenge. There were no easy climbs at all on Mt Komorebi. But that was another level above everything.
Just standing at the bottom and looking up is daunting.
The elation at beating it was indescribable. From there it was a fairly easy climb to the top. As easy as anything can be at that altitude.
Words cannot describe what itās like to be on top of the world. We took a while to take it all in.
We packed a tent with us in case we needed to spend the night at the summit. It was simply irresistible to have a little celebration.
As fun as it was to complete a big bucket list item, we couldnāt wait to get home. The familiar routines and faces are comforting. And I had something I couldnāt wait to do.
Hereās the thing, that āspecialā massage I mentioned earlier. Yeah, it was a fertility massage. I know thereās no real proof they work. But what could it hurt? We were a long way from home. Nobody knows me there. I was just another tourist or thrill seeker passing through. If it worked then weād get our fondest wish. If not Iād have a funny story to share with Rory, Jess, and Juniper someday. I was dying to know if it worked...
āCāmere a minute hun. I got something to tell youā
āSo does it have something to do with that smile?ā
It is great that their climb went well. The photos of them on the climb are lovely and very scenic. Congratulations to them on their soon to be born little baby! š
