Share Your Windenburg Builds 🏰

It wasn't intentional in the beginning. I tried some different building techniques for towers and the poor "Shrieking Llama" in Windslar/Windenburg was the victim of my love of experimenting. But even if it turned out to be a bit bizarre, in the end I liked it so much that I left it in that shape instead of scrapping it. Might be a kind of display of a mad tower builder.

The Windenburg build that I am most proud of, and that I have worked on the most (in the gallery it's version 3.0 now I think), is Windenburg Cathedral. I'm so obsessed with getting this right that I bought the Castle Estate kit more or less only so that I could improve on this build. You can find this latest version here on the gallery.

The outside is gray stone with copper roofing, something that reminds me of the Cathedral in Lund here at home. The main hall has pews but also chairs to make weddings functional (as pews aren't counted as seats). There is a balcony for the organ, and upstairs a reception area for the wedding. 

The build was also featured in my Whittaker Saga as Abigail and Joseph visited the church on their honeymoon (though I think that was version 2.0). 

Abigail liked it so much she later painted it so she could remember it (and from the windows I can see it was definitely 2.0 version):

A German town needs a cathedral, and that lot is perfect for it. :)

Making some edits to Von Haunt Estate and giving my Windenburg quick looksy again :)

Didn't do much for exterior as personally it feels like crime at this point to change Mimsys house 😅
I did however do some small things like changing railings and shrinking that attic and such :)

At the back we have recently got some activities I felt suit the place so I added those in
still have to check routing of it all but so far so good :)

Upstairs I added Romantic blanket (what is Simmingal build without one at this point)
and telescope, for viewing the stars above mountains :)

Still debating what I should add for this side here but some seating is must isn't it...

Moving indoors now, we have the attic quite dark.
Originally it was attic quite empty, but I figured I need place for that new Mimsy
and it just felt bit off in the main floors with that burnt frame of it all.

I know they said the fire was in different part of house
but perhaps that was restored and painting moved here, I would think.

I also added some gates and things so all parts of house can be accessed on a whim, without losing the museum look

kills me we don't have matching gate to this fence, would have been ideal, but I made do with this one from B&H
and ofcourse added in couple useful things like games table for one...
why on earth they didn't use that with Get Together build I will never know 😅
I'm even questioning myself, did I remove that myself? a puzzle isn't it.

I also made Bedroom and bathroom accessible, crime yes, but I was thinking I might want to use it for wedding...functions.
I end up using this Get To Work (?) fence more too since it lines up better with those gates and has better visibility in small spaces

bathroom also I added mirror and then I got frustrated with wallpaper cutting the mirror awkwardly so I changed wallpaper 😅
makes more sense this way I think.

not much done in other room I think, just added that bookcase door into it and a violin since I like to be mean to myself apparently
...violin practice sounds incoming I'm afraid. Didn't think of that in the moment 😆

ah well, one more floor to show, probably most changes here actually
have to test routing but I'm hoping this dance floor works here, and some music ofcourse, was needed.

Also added bar, some tea, closet for funs of it all.

and redid the entire kitchen cause it was looking bit rough after I removed the old door to add bar

feels bit more grand now and all, paintings are bit overkill tbh... bit silly to have duplicates in same house
but I needed to hide awkward trim there so I figured this was good option 😅

and I did not forget small viewing area, for museum vibes

I did forget the info thingy tho, now that I look at it, mayhaps add that later.
aand then back to the hallway I suddenly remembered seeing this mimsy tarot card in L&D so I added that

and also I felt like buffet table might come useful, though I apparently forgot to picture that and just moved on to dining room that is largely same, only more accessible and I put podium so sims can do speeches
I'm unsure if this table routes or if I need to change it to actually use all of the table 😅
would be so neat though if it worked just as is.

soo yeah thats pretty much it, I did take layout shots too so I'll add those here for curious.

Your renovating of the build is lovely! 🙂The additions and changes look great! It is good that you have made a dance floor and bar area. Sims will enjoy having dances there. The new furnishing of the kitchen is lovely.
