- What do you mean, floor plans?
- I just do whatever comes to mind or what I was already thinking of.
- I love using real blue prints to make houses! <3
There are some great sites that have all the free floor plans you could ever want: theplancollection.com - @Anshin Thanks for the site. Building is something I really struggle with (too long and fiddly for me) and I've been toying with drawing up floor plans, but... once again, too long and fiddly, might even be worse than winging it in BuildMode. This site (and you) have just solved my building woes
- I used a house plan for the latest house I made. It looks really nice inside. Looks like a mess outside tho.

This is something I've never done in previous Sims games, but I'm going to start. I think it'll be a lot of fun!
Using floor plans is a really nice way to get creative; you can see what types of homes look like today whether they're modern, rustic, contemporary, Victorian, etc. There's quite a list of useful websites to see floor plans for different types of homes and it find it most useful. :)"Anshin;12625932" wrote:

Totally almost off-topic but I absolutely LOVE your signature. I remember seeing that screenshot from TS3 ages ago and nearly broke my neck trying to find the house with that living room in-game. I never thought to try and create it myself.- > @greenXen said:

No utility room because there is no hot water tank, furnace, or switch box. No laundry, so no need for a laundry room. No need for a mud room without coats or muddy boots. Kids don't seem to mind sharing bedrooms, so I can stuff them in together for smaller homes. Sims use dressers instead of closets. No need for a cleaning closet either, etc.

I tend to put all of those thins in anyway. I know it's not needed, but I think it looks nice anyway.
I usually will use house plans just for the outside and use my own imagination for the rooms I put in. It's really fun building, but sometimes I just get stuck when trying to come up with something. - I have three house plan magazines, one is small home, one is cabins and such, then the other one is regular homes, they have all kinds in each magazine. I use to use them in sims 3, I will get them out and look for a home to build, also there are some nice web sights that have home plans. You can print them out if you want. Or copy to a word program. It is a lot of fun, should be interesting in Sims 4.
- I use house plans all the time. When I don't use plans all my houses start to look really similar because I tend to stick with ideas I know work and don't come up with new designs. I also base houses off of my house and my friend's houses.
- I have used the plans on www.houseplans.com for years; I probably couldn't build much of a house without using a floor plan LOL
