- @katrinasforest That's true too, though I haven't been able to try that yet! The game just allows for new and interesting things to happen whether your OC is fully fleshed out or not, which is really fun in and of itself.
- GalacticGal7 years agoLegendYes. I created an O/C for the mini-series in my siggie. I have been playing with them since Sims2. Things got better for them in Sims3, as the family could jam together, plus once we got ST the second son in the family could pursue his musical career. In the books he was a struggling musician. I was busy attempting to create a singer Sim in the game using the RTF mod, figuring I'd just pay him using the MCCC mod. Then GF happened out of the blue. Yay! Found out RTF had also been updated to include a singer career that works nicely with GF.
Meet my O/C: This is her as a teen with her baby brother.

This is Spock at a rather unfortunate moment in my gameplay: (Yes, he died, my very first emotional death.) "He's dead, Jim."

The gray-haired man next to a blond fellow, both in tuxedos are their father and his namesake, Joe, Jr. The blonde lady with the fur neckline is their mom. Obviously, the one singing is the second son. the red-haired male in a tux with his back to the camera is the eldest in the family. Their Dad's hair was once that color.

By OCs do you mean real people from life that you make into sims, or do you mean characters you've created for video games or role playing games, or do you just mean you play with sims you've created rather than the sims already in the game, like the Goths? "AlwaysAsking;c-16945659" wrote:

characters for roleplays.- GalacticGal7 years agoLegend@AlwaysAsking O/C stands for original character when writing fan fiction. Someone you've inserted into the series universe.

You're very welcome. I confess when I first started writing fan fiction I had to ask what O/C meant, too. ;) - Magdaleena967 years agoSeasoned Ace

OC isn't exclusive to fan fiction! They can be created outside fandoms too; it just means "Original Character". A character you have made up yourself, given a personality, backstory, likes, dislikes, behavior, anything that would flesh them out as a person.
Fanfic-specific characters are often called "fan characters" instead. They can be just as fleshed out, they're just tied to an existing property. - Here's a few. Still not quite how I envisioned them, but the idea is there. I actually have several generations to one family and the following are part of it.
Jhana (blonde female) is one of my first ever. (Later on I created her parents and uncles). She's elven with no real last name. Kavor (black haired male) is one of her children, and he has a bit of demonic blood and also doesn't have a real last name. Samina Corington (brunette female) is Jhana's granddaughter from another child and she's mostly human. The blonde man with her in the last picture is her husband Adrien Braedor, also human. They met while he was thieving.http://i.imgur.com/n27Mqw0m.png?1
- I make all of my characters into sims. I find that it helps me feel out their personalities and interactions when I'm stuck.
Also, it's just fun. :D
