I had a blast playing the Supervillain scenario with Eliza Pancakes.
Eventually we had Eliza, her stepson Max Villareal, his wife Lilith Pleasant, and three kleptomaniac robots all causing havoc together.

I feel like, if you want it to be fun, then do it in a way that is fun for you. Maybe that seems obvious, but it's a different approach from "well I've never played this way so maybe I should"
For me, the mean conversational interactions aren't very fun. But stealing from other sims, creatively, is definitely fun. So are starting fights, and setting people on fire using magic.
You could also play a negative aspiration with the idea of creating a turn-around later in life.
In my San Myshuno game I followed Darling Walsh's Chief of Mischief aspiration all the way to the end, then had her become a teacher and start to be more and more a support to the children in her neighborhood.
