Garden of Roses Collab Legacy [Spots Open]

Ooh and Rose's gotten pregnant again, and the second child just came along!
The dad - Eugene - had the following traits: Cheerful, Childish, Outgoing.
However, unfortunately the random trait generator gave the child - Sage - the following traits: Self-Assured, Music Lover, Loves Outdoors.
(I thought that since both the parents had the Cheerful trait, for sure this one would be my Gen 2 heir! :disappointed:
So... questions questions! Should Rose try once more to have a child with the Cheerful trait? Or should the Gen 2 heir be decided by a vote?
How many kids are your Roses planning to have?
I also thought that we could maybe create a few sims respectively, upload them on the gallery to used as townies/potential mates for Gen 2? :) Since this is a collaborative legacy, I thought it'd be cool to connect our legacies in one way or another!
