Help! How to delete single floor tile?

I know this is probably a silly question but I just can't figure it out! How do you delete a single floor tile? I made a room on the second floor that I don't want completely enclosed with walls, I want railing instead. Well whenever I go to delete some of the floor tiles to make the room in the shape that I want it keeps highlighting the entire floor! What do I need to push in order to highlight single tiles only? I think I remember hearing something about it in one of the videos they showed us last week but I can't find it. :/

Okay at least i'm not alone lol I was thinking it's probably pretty obvious and i'm just not pushing the right buttons. But I give up...

I dont have the game but I remember the simsupply answered it. Build walls around around the tile then delete the tile then walls. Im sorry if it doesnt work its been awhile since i heard him say it.

@YamineHears Yes, you are correct. Though it is a pain, making walls aroung the tile(s) that you want to delete, and then removing them, is the only way that I know of to do this. Maybe fences will work instead of walls, but I haven't tried that, yet. If anyone else knows of another way, please post!

Found it! Use the sledgehammer tool and it will delete individual tiles (and refund cost of tile).

The Sledge Hammer tool will delete the tiles within a room. You cannot delete individual tiles within a room of two or more tiles, it has to be walled off by itself.
